Book a bird photography course this winter with wildlife photographer Paul Miguel and capture natural portraits of woodland birds!
These half day bird photography courses take place at a reliable woodland feeding station within a local park in Yorkshire. We entice the birds with a bit of food, bringing them onto natural perches; we can even use our own props and add artificial backgrounds to create the perfect backdrop! Throughout the winter this woodland clearing is busy with a range of incredibly tame birds; blue tits, great tits, coal tits and chaffinches perch in the trees whilst blackbirds and robins hop along the ground and pose on stumps. A star attraction is the incredibly tolerant jays which perch on larger branches before flying down. These photography courses are timed to coincide with the coldest weather to provide true winter surroundings with possible frost and snow.
We look at a range of photographic techniques, from focussing to composition, exposure settings, shutter speed and ISO rating. We will also take a brief visit to the lake hide at Adel Dam - a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve. This is an excellent place to see kingfishers and herons - although we can't guarante! |

Lunch is included at the at the Bakery Coffee House. This will give us a chance to review and discuss images. Further feedback will be given via email after the workshop. These photography courses are ideal for beginners in wildlife photography; more experienced photographers will be able to build up their bird portfolio at a reliable location.
