Photograph British birds of prey in wild settings with nature photographer Paul Miguel. Working with 'Birds of Prey Displays' we provide the perfect photography workshop, from natural portraits to raptors in flight.
We photograph our birds of prey in wild countryside settings - from low lying Yorkshire farmland to the wildness of the Hambleton Hills. Varying our backdrops, we place the birds on natural perches to create truly wild looking images; wiith specific birds we are also able to remove the jesses and anklets - this is particularly useful for flight photography. On these coures we regularly use British birds including barn owl, long eared owl, little owl, eagle owl and goshawk. Other raptors include peregrine, golden eagle and white tailed eagle. You will be given tuition on lighting, composition, exposure combinations and focussing techniques. Lunch will be on site, where we can review and discuss images from the morning.
After photographing bird of prey portraits we move on to capturing images in flight. Two birds will be flown, including straight line flight on pre-planned routes. This is often the most exhilarating part of the day!
Expert falconer Ben Potter has worked with us on many photographic workshops. He understands the needs of wildlife photographers and takes a great deal of care to provide the best looking birds and settings. Ben's website can be viewed at Birds of Prey Displays
We aim to provide specific birds for each workshop, but as these are working birds of prey, a specific bird may be unavailable on the day. We will limit this eventuality as much as possible. |
